This is a pretty heavy storyline by Peanuts standards. But run it up next to what’s going on with For Better or For Worse this month and I hardly notice.
Poor Charlie Brown, …he strives for perfection but always misses the boat. There is a lesson here for all us Charlie Browns, ….and yes, even for all us Linus’ who have lost at love. But to lose is to cause one to rise amidst the storms of life that we may win the greater prize. Linus would understand this concept.
I wonder what Charlie Brown’s EARNED Run Average is.
Also, you have to be at least a good pitcher to serve up a ball that can be hit for a home run. Bad pitches are usually not swung at at all, or are fouled off. I was such a pitcher: accurate, but with nothing on the ball. My pitches would just hover over the plate screaming “Hit me! Hit me!” Some of them are still in orbit.
On a sports note, it looks like Charlie didn’t ask Linus how his week’s been. It might’ve helped Linus to talk it out, but all the manager could think about was winning a game. So, Charlie, I can’t stand it either.
I lost at love a lot Linus. You’re lucky you are young… I think this was supposed to be humorous at the time. Maybe today’s sense of humor is a lot different but back then it was funny.
When I was playing Little League, I honestly had a moment like this. It was just after I came back from a family vacation to Disneyland. When the ball was in the air, I was visualizing the sign to Splash Mountain. lol
And this is the reason why Peter Parker is the best, even if that happens to him, he keeps going so no one else has to lose all… bad Linus is not Peter.

I don’t think Linus’ sister’s five-cent psychiatric help will do much good when Lucy herself is lovesick over Schroeder.

Linus would do better in figuring out Who is on first base, and where What is?

Maybe it’s just me, but the artwork here makes Linus seem to be running more like an outfielder rather than his usual position at 2nd base?
