So the workmen finished putting new tile down in the bathroom, and left the toilet in the shower…uh…I caught him and asked him to come back tomorrow and remove it. Sheesh.And yes I have another shower, but it suddenly turns itself from hot to cold and the shower head spurts. It needs new fixtures.. And…my SIL and daughter’s new dishwasher came today. The valve on the wall was shot. SIL asked if they could just go get a new one…no. they have to order one. It arrives Tuesday. Meanwhile the new dishwasher is only partway in the cabinet. Their kitchen is only 11×11. Wonderful.

I love that the little blue gato has his own rake.

Beans sprout pretty fast, especially compared to some other seeds (my carrot seeds seems to take an eternity to come up. I haven’t planted carrots yet, but they do take a long time), but the kitties will still need to wait at least a few more days for the bean to grow.

Today is:

National Spinach Day. The one time I planted spinach seeds, they took a long time to come up. After they did come up, the plants disappeared. I guess some critter ate them. They ate the pea plants too.

I leave for Connecticut tomorrow (Sunday) to be with my daughter. Her surgery is early Monday morning too.

An Alpha Cat oddity

As you know, Alpha Cat is a distinct individual in his own right – he does things his way and holds very strong opinions.

I was just pondering one aspect of his nature – he hates anything that he considers frivolous.

Cat toys – even if intended for his tribe and not for him – are NOT permitted. Be it catnip mousie, or sparkly thing on string, he will destroy it immediately. This is not play, this is single minded destruction of something he considers impermissible. I think, with his spartan nature, he considers cat toys to be corrupters and weakeners of his tribe and that cannot be tolerated.

This attitude in this stern warrior cat is, perhaps, understandable.

What is less understandable is that he classes pompoms, bobbles, on hats and clothing to be in this class of forbidden objects. This is why I am thinking about this subject, the old boy has been systematically hunting down any item of my wife’s clothing that has anything like that on it and removing the offensive bobble from it. He leaves the item otherwise untouched. She’s down to one remaining knitted winter hat that still has a bobble. She hides it away but they both know it’s only a matter of time before the abomination is expunged from the face or the earth.

Go figure.
