also, why would you want a refund for your team having lost the game?

@Ling Today’s strip IS funny but a repeat , our HERO Mr Andrew Capp wanting money back for a football game he sneaked into is priceless :o) my avatar is a spoof of our Lord rising from the dead and saluting his guardians, come passerai la vostra Domenicha mio meno vecchio Amicho , our Sunday should be quite calm , we are both in a good mood , no early morning drive , no shopping to do or errands to run, just stay inside the house and keep hydrated because it’s cold outside and wait till 9. 30 and watch The Holy mass on television, then we are having Connie’s super lasagna for our meals , keep safe and a bientot pal

Sorry, Affie—but today’s strip just is NOT funny!!

Maybe if it was cut down to two or three panels…

You should never get a refund, if you didn’t pay to get in originally regardless of who won.

Sure you can have a refund – open your hand to receive your zero quid.

To heck with the refund. I want a rematch and this time give them some weapons. Imagine what they could do with lacrosse sticks.

If the striker aimed at his own goalie and missed, did he score a goal for the other team?

I started reading Capp about fifty years ago, because I liked the soccer strips. No soccer in American media back when.

Cyril Knowles Stand…I had to look it up, this confirms Andy lives in Hartlepool. I’d read that’s where the strip was likely set, plus they have a statue of Andy.

Even though they didn’t pay any admission, Andy and Chalkie feel they do deserve something for the time they wasted watching a very bad game.

Since when do you get your money back when your team loses?

I can understand why Andy went out on a limb to get in free. Today’s cartoon’s prices for admission were cheap compared to the real ticket prices at the stadium. Hartlepool United tickets for home matches on game day are £21. Adults – £15. Seniors (65+), Under 19s, Students, and Armed Forces. – £6. Under 16s … and Under 5s are free with full paying adult.

2 day old bangers and mash…

    SylviSterling is planning the harvest.

even dillweed! I can hardly wait!

My dill and chard come up every year with no new seeding required. I harvest the dill flowers along with what you would term those bits as “leaves”. The flower tops add flavor.
