Always happens, no one is using the phone, you get on and everyone all of a sudden has to use the phone.

Mid 70’s; the TV show Bosom Buddies was entirely predicated on a “woman’s” hotel where men were only allowed to visit in the parlor and had to be out by 10 or 11 pm. The boys needed a cheap place to live so they put on dresses and make up and got a room with a friend. Starred, wait for it, Tom Hanks

When I went to college, we did not have a phone booth, just a very open phone in the middle of the hallway where everyone could hear what you were saying. So, of course, we would make plans to meet at the student union. Not that it was any more private, but mostly, no one would pay attention to what other folks were saying. They had their own conversations.

I hope JJ incorporates Tim’s pool party (26 Nov 94) in this story line.

Back in the late 60’s, the High school I attended had a bank of about a dozen or more phone booths for 900 students. And standing in line to use the phone was just what we had to do.

I dropped out of high school in 1975 and earned enough units at jc to get my diploma. I hated hs but loved college. I commuted on my Suzuki 250 instead of a bicycle though. Good times.

Arlo’s a big man on campus. He’s got one of those fancy 10-speed bikes. Those hard-up for money usually just had one-speed bikes.
