Claire got in the dryer. Didn’t see her, flipped the lid shut and left the room. Immediately, heard clanging, raced back in and I opened the door, Claire looked a little dazed. She had a drunk look to her. It was one and only time in the dryer. Not only did she not go near it, I made sure she wasn’t in it.
That’s easily the best part about cats. I have a devilish Ragdoll at home who lays on all of my mom’s folded clothes, but they get 5 degrees warmer when you wear them because of all of the excess furover it. You trade style for warmth
Aw let’s not be TO hard on Ric. He was forced to drastic measures so he could get some DAD (oh, I mean DAN time). My cats never tried that…until last week….
Nummy sat on top of the dryer while it was running. Then she’d jump in once you opened the door. Warm laundry, warm purring cat. When damp laundry was going in she’d jump into the freshly folded laundry basket clothes, and ride around the house as they were being put away. By then the top of the dryer was warm enough to sit on until the next load came out. We even had a towel on top for her to sit on.

You have to convince them that being clawed and bitten doesn’t faze you. They’ll still do it though.

Most cats are self-cleaning, though they must always be laid flat to dry.
