When I go to the store, I don’t “shop.” I know what I’m looking for, so I can stand in the middle of the menswear section, look around and say to myself “That’s what I want” or “Nope, nothing here that I’m looking for,” then leave. I don’t spend time looking at other things.
My biggest problem is size, particularly with pants. I generally need a 29 inseam (28 would be better) but often can’t even find a 30 inch in my waist size. Stores usually have a Big and Tall section; what about a Short and Dumpy section?

Darryl and Hammie go to the store with the intent to buy something. Wanda and Zoe “shop.”

Reverse the situation. Put Wanda and Zoe in the hardware store, for example, while Darryl and Hammie shop. See who can’t cut it then.
