Isn’t it strange that, while humanity as a whole feels compelled to study and learn about every subject imaginable, so much of humanity strenuously resists knowledge?
This is partly why certain constellations look “Odd” by modern standards. Ursa Major used to legitimately look like a bear, but the stars have since moved so it now looks like “The Big Dipper”.
The time thing only matters in the sense that the information gets here slowly. We see everything as soon as the light gets here. It’s the same in the living room only at a much shorter distance.
Actually, the nearest stars are less than 5 light-years away, so billions of people alive today would (eventually) see it if one of them actually were to go out tonight.
