I once walked all around the parking lot at the gym while pushing the horn button. When I finally found my car, it was the only one with the trunk lid up.

He should have been able to feel that it didn’t have enough buttons to be the TV remote.

It’s like an old EARTHWORM JIM cartoon in which button of doom is pressed repeatedly and the scene cuts to a garage door slamming open and closed in rapid succession. Wrong remote gag.

One time shopping for a new car, I asked the sales person ‘where the trunk release lever was located?" I was informed that there wasn’t one because the carmaker did not want drivers opening the trunk while driving on the highway. I went elsewhere and bought a different car.

My garage door started doing that. Called a guy to replace it. In the garage, I’m explaining and the garage door starts closing!! He got it. He had the new opener up in less than an hour.

In the late 70’s my neighbor installed a remote for his garage door. Every now and then the door would open or close on its own. Turns out the radio signals from overhead airplanes were activating the remote. True story!

My mom was in a nursing home for the last few months of her life, and was supposed to remain flat, so we unplugged the adjustable bed. She called my son to come out and fix her TV. He drove an hour out there and back to discover that the only thing wrong with it was she was trying to use the control for her bed.

When garage door openers 1st came on the market back in the stone age, a friend and I would ride up and down alleys on our bikes opening garage doors with our KnightKit walkie-talkies. :-)

Why was the remote for the garage door opener in the house, at some point very close to the sofa, before being eaten by it?

My wife has read stories of burglars stealing remote codes, or breaking into cars and stealing the remotes to open garage doors and night and rob people. So she bought a $15 switch that the garage door opener plugs into. The switch is controlled by a button on the wall. She turns the power off to that plug at night and I turn it back on in the morning. I think it’s overkill, but she sleeps better now.

My house uses remotes for all the ceiling fans in our house. My sister moved in with us several years after we moved in and she had a downstairs bedroom. That is when it started. I would put the ceiling fan in our common living area upstairs high. Later on I would see the fan on the low. I would put it up on high and it would later be on the low setting. I complained to hubby about the fan needed to be fixed. About a 1/2 hour after I made that statement, my sister came upstairs to complain there was something wrong with the ceiling fan in her bedroom as it keep changing from low to high. I immediately took the upstairs remote and went and tested it on the downstairs ceiling fan. Yup.. both had the same control frequency. The upstairs ceiling fan was replaced with a remote that used a different frequency.
