I had several gigs as a technical writer to fill in the gaps during periods of unemployment. During one of them, I encountered these creatures called editors.

I thought them to be a particularly anal-retentive bunch at least when it came to their work.

In my primary profession, I laugh at the way we engineers can argue over a concept that is either arbitrary or can be solved with two minutes of research or a ten minute experiment.

I’ve watched arguments go on for days among the editors on the placement of a comma or worse, whether it was needed at all.

I was a good writer, they made me better.

… The message isn’t clear. It’s way too cloudy as it is."

I used to write as a ‘side’ job. When I first came on the ’ net, I was a horrible Grammar Nazi. Now, rather than correct, I’ve learned to ignore. Life is so much better now, lol.

The only exception is if I can make a joke about it. Then, all bets are off!

Some of us are born editors and some of us just aren’t.
