You could try and run back and catch the ball as it goes over your head, Lucy. I remember, as a kid, watching Willie Mays running back and catching some spectacular fly balls in the outfield.
The only organized baseball teams I’ve seen which were boy/girl, were very young kids playing T-Ball. Even slow pitch softball teams are sex segregated (at least where I live). Imagine Lucy trying to ‘cut it’ on an all girl team with 8 other ‘Peppermint Patty’ types as teammates.
I saw Corey Kluber pitch a rehab game for the Columbus Clippers, the then Indians AAA team. One guy hit a homer so hard off him the outfielder didn’t budge or even look!

Lucy, you should be used to that by now. It’ll be more like 6, 17, 29.

With any luck they won’t be able to find the ball, and the game will be called.

At least, he’ll never give up a bases loaded home run.

Any ball hit near Lucy is an automatic inside-the-park homer anyway.

What they’re counting on, is that the other team can’t hit the ball if they’re doubled over, laughing.

Probably landed six feet behind her. But naturally Lucy would treat every ball that goes over her head as a home run.
Actually, best way to beat Charlie Brown’s team is to try and hit it to the field Lucy is playing. Pretty much turns any hit into a homer.
