clitellum: A swollen, glandular, saddlelike region in the epidermis of certain annelid worms, such as the earthworm, that secretes a viscous fluid to form a cocoon for their eggs.
(Probably the first time I’ve seen that word since dissecting earthworms in biology class in high school a million years ago.)
The poor bird would’ve gone crazy at my highschool when I was teaching. A silly trend was to have your sneakers untied. I once saw a student run right out of his shoes!

Ha! I’m not sure what my reaction might be if I looked down and saw a budgie in military clothes hanging onto my shoelace

A dragging sanitation workers shoelace probably isn’t that dissimilar.

Life is a fantasy, a parrot who hunts earthworms for sport, and thendeclares " there she blows" after spotting one. The great white worm, Moby.

Glad to see the sanitation workers are doing their collections early. Hope they are quiet with the trash cans. Plastic cans were a great improvement.

Can you say “clitellum” on TV? Well, cable maybe. (And no, it doesn’t have any connection with, um, that other word.)

I’ve seen a lot of worms, but I could never find the clitellum segment, don’t know why it’s so important to the worm.

Earthworms stay underground unless it floods, or a mole arrives.
