Well Charlie, your pitching didn’t knock his socks off, but it knocked off yours, along with your uniform, glove and hat, so there is that…

After your next pitch, you may be wishing you wore a necktie.

Seems the batter dedicated the game to his own father. :D

My dad would come to see me play right field in our little league games. I don’t think he had much reason to be proud of the way I played, but he didn’t care. He’s been gone for twenty years this May. Still miss you, Dad.

Thankfully my brother liked sports, took the pressure off me who could care less.

I still have what I think is the greatest Father’s Day card ever in the Peanuts genre. The front of the card is entitled: ‘A Father’s Day Riddle For You Dad’ with Snoopy in a golf cap saying “What goes - Putt Putt – Putt – Putt -Putt?” And on the inside is Snoopy driving a golf cart past a green with Woodstock perched on a golf club while Snoop is saying “A golfing dad who’s way above par!” Fathers are so important, a great day to all of them.

It’s a running theme that Charles Schultz emphasizes — There will be disappointments and perils, but learn to cope with them and persevere. Charlie Brown doesn’t need to give his dad any physical object like a necktie to show his love and respect. As someone who lost his dad at age 7, I can definitely state that loss still haunts me nearly sixty years later.

Maybe if the dad would help him practice some. I have never seen his parents being parents in any way.

Wow, that first panel. I don’t think I’ve seen a crueler statement about a child outside of Family Guy

It’s OK. Maybe his dad is a Cubs fan. After all, CB is lovable, and I’m sure his dad loves him.

Charlie Brown’s dad must be laughing at how one fly ball can take off Charlie Brown’s clothes. (I also think that’s funny.)
