I am with Dean. I am an introvert and not a big fan of small talk. If it’s a worthy subject, I can talk for hours though. I always hate getting a haircut and the stylist goes on and on with small talk. I just want to say “You don’t have to talk to me, it’s okay. I am fine with Silence.” Not sure of the polite way of saying that though. It feels like they can’t handle silence and get all nervous, coming up with small things to say.

Unless the barber scalps you, maybe you should leave well enough alone. Hair grows back and there are plenty of barbers running loose!

If he yells at you, say “OK, bye” and go find another barber. One that doesn’t yell at his paying customers.
Would a barber really get that stroppy about chatting? What’s he going to say? “No, you WILL talk to me during your haircut!”

Honesty is the best policy. And if you buy that, you have learned nothing.

Anyone else guessing that Dean will turn out to be the chatty one?
