A word to parents: pick your fights. Not every battle is worth fighting to the death. Kids will often grow out of the purple and pink hair stage (unless they go into the arts).
I just told my eldest if he was unable to communicate his needs he might wanna think about how his future is gonna look as we were only supporting him until he was done uni. i’m guessing he thought about it as he was quite happy moving forward with his wishs.
Married a fellow who had two teen age children from a previous marriage. Within a couple of years they had both moved in with us. I was really worried, but they put up with me and I really didn’t notice any eye rolls.
You need to make your point in the first few seconds. You cannot HAMMER your point into a teenager. My mother could turn improperly cleaned dishes into literally a half-hour rant that implied I was responsible for the decline of the Western civilization and the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby. My father would just say, “Son, I’m disappointed in you. I want you to wash all the dishes over again.” I knew exactly what he meant and what he expected.

Hormones were so wild…. I remember just being absolutely in love with (or absolutely disgusted with) the dumbest things.

Some eye rolls require hearing protection.

Eyes rolls signal disinterest and/or insult. But, to me they usually roll in a circle, which indicates their likely IQ.

My Mother had a cure for the “eye rolls” that would straighten your eyes out right quick.
