My mother learned from her family that you drank drinking wine and you cooked with cooking wine. … and the kids mostly really preferred the dishes without wine. Only much later did I figure out that if it ain’t good enough to drink, you SURE don’t want to concentrate it with heat before you serve it. We have made that home-chef joke our mantra: “We love to cook with wine. Sometimes we even put it in the food!”
Frazz is right. Trying to make something one touts as ‘perfect’ into something ‘more perfect’ is like decades of overuse of the phrase most unique. It either is or it isn’t, and campy advertising can’t change that.
This is a weird thing to be obsessing about. I don’t even know what it is, but if it’s just a dessert, try it, see if you like it. Analyzing it is just weird.
Usually when somebody blends two classic foods together, like clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, they end up using inferior food; like watery clam chowder and lame sourdough.

Shouldn’t Frazz zip up his coveralls a bit?

The thought of all the sugar that must be in that carmel-whatever-cino still makes my teeth ache.

Pretty much sums up how I feel about a certain ubiquitous coffee company’s product.
