I remember that being an idea Stephen King played around with in one of his books. I can’t remember if it was Insomnia or Needful Things, but I do remember it was the best idea in the book, and one I still think about a bit.

I think so.
Maybe as an idealized, but Santa isn’t a part of the real world. Even the hippies grew out of that.
