what does your busy schedule entail, Ginger? riding the billycart, playing cricket, taking Minnie to the pictures, eating at the ice cream parlour, pulling pranks on Tiger Kelly, getting stuffed into the rubbish bin after insulting Jugears Johnson?

This is something I have had difficulty in understanding. Children are sent to school to learn how to function in adult life. But then they have summer off… because the children were needed to help bring in the harvest. This warped into… not all people are farmers and… children having summer off as a type of vacation. They grow to adults and expect summer off… they demand summer off… get disappointed to the point that they might end existence because School lied to them. The same can be said for weekends. holidays, and starting school at latter times for “maximum efficiency in learning”. But adult life is not like that. We have to work all hours of the day and night. We sometimes don’t get a “day off” for weeks at a time. Why not teach children this harsh reality? Instead we teach them… you can be children for as long as others support that idea and as long as you can push the issue.
