Channel hopping is a waste of time. With 200 channels by the time, you find something to watch the show is over. Then you start over. Give me back the three channel days.
We gave up TV a couple of months ago, we barely watched it anyway. Much happier with subscription video channels. We watch what we want to watch, when we want to watch it, and best of all a net savings of about $150.00 a month in the process. That being said, I need to practice my mouse clicking technique for later today.
Practice makes perfect. Might want to consider squeezing a tennis ball to strengthen those muscles when he’s not actually using the remote. Don’t want him to blow it between watching an action movie and a game at the same time….
I gotta practice my remote technique also Brutus. With our Smart TV can watch 4 channels at once. But I can’t find one channel that I actually want to watch. All the subscription channels we have, seen most of the movies/shows. Ah, well there’s the weather channel.
Just be careful you don’t wind up with Remote Control Thumb, like I did when I was sick in bed for a couple of days and doing nothing but watching programs I’d recorded on VHS on my VCR (look ‘em up, kids…..) I was a voracious commercial-zapper and after a couple of days of fast-fowarding through zillions of commercials, once I got out of bed and back to normal life I noticed my right thumb was so sore I was having trouble writing and performing other tasks. I couldn’t figure out why….until the next time I watched a program and started using the VCR remote again. Then it dawned on me!
Reminds me of the old Nancy Sinatra song, “Counting flowers on the wall”, "now don’t tell me, I’ve nothin to do. Well, I think Brutus has found something that could be added to that song.
I never saw channel surfing as a sport. If he has looked at hundreds of channels and found nothing, perhaps a nice book or even a nap would be a better choice.

I never thought that clicking the remote was an activity that you needed to practice.

I look at the menu for the cable guide to see what’s worth watching.
