Well, in the U.S. the fifty-pound bags of pet food weigh 50 pounds. Not sure about Canada.

And so begins Michael’s next big romance… .

Isn’t the girl supposed to be the one thinking about romance.

If she’s a checker then she has to be older than him by a few years, and likely she’s married.

Mike has always been the romantic one.

Is love in the air?

It’s funny her name is “Rhetta” because, from Mikes description, she seems to resemble Scarlett O’Hara.

Is it just me, or does Rhetta look a lot like teenage April?

Forget cat food. Try hauling kitty litter.

“Golly Wally! Rhetta looks at me a certain way, and it’s really neat!” …….. “Gee Beav! That really IS neat!”

The name Rhetta was for a friend’s daughter. I liked her name so much, I put it in the strip.

Reminds me, I have to buy kitty litter. Almost out, and my cat Muggsy would never let me forget it.

Nothing happens between them…romantically. Since these are all repeats, we already know who he DOES marry.

They are not thinking the same way…too bad.

Does Mike check that the produce is fresh? You gotta check with your eyes, smell, and touch you know.

Look at the label on the bag. If it says 50 pounds (22.6 kilo), it’s going to be heavy.

We don’t have a “robot” litter box, but we do have a Litter Genie along with a litter box that has three nesting trays. The middle tray is slotted, so you pick up the top one and dump it into the slotted tray. That tray is then used as a sifter to put the clean litter into the third tray and holds the waste clumps to be dumped into the Litter Genie or trash can. The old top tray then goes on the bottom with the slotted one next and the new full tray on top so you are set for the next time.

As for the Litter Genie, it has a continuous plastic tube that you tie off at one end to make a bag. The waste goes into the top of the Genie, close the lid and pull a lever to drop the waste into the bag in the bottom. Once the bag is full, you open the top half of the Genie which pulls more of that plastic tube through, cut the tube and tie it off and dump the whole bag into the trash. You never touch the waste at all. Then tie off the open end of the tube again and start over. Replacement tubes are available at pet stores.

Maybe she’s not saying what she’s thinking?

Well, when you’re dealing with 40 lb. bags of product, regardless of what product it is…

It isn’t that heavy, in smaller bags.
