Well, we’ve reached the end of the week and still don’t have an answer as to why Heart is hiding the injury. TO BE CONTINUED… in the Saturday strip, maybe.
Thinking we get it by now, Heart’s foot is hurt worse then she wants to admit. Time to move on to the why she doesn’t want to admit her foot is injured.
Why the nurse didn’t put a some kind of a compression bandage to take care of the ankle until the end of the day…now I know, just so we could see Heart’s one foot stumbles with obstacles.
I wonder if Steenz is sending an oblique message to the world about a disabled child’s difficulties in handling such obstacles at school…
Okay… I had to backread a couple of days to see that one of them did say foot/ankle before. Really, I thought she was stumbling around dazed & concussed (and the fall we saw makes more sense – landing on your back with legs in the air makes me think “head injury” before it does “foot injury”).
Actually, my sister was on crutches for a while and had to take the elevator in high school. Other students would just stand there and hold the door open to be annoying.

Keep at it, Heart. Only (counting the rest of the steps) THIS many steps to go!

She should sit on the stairs, moving up one stair at a time. Use her good foot and hands and maybe use the hand rail!

Why doesn’t she go to a doctor for a check-up?

Hands and knees! Bad news if you miss a step with what you’re doing.

Kid, if you broke your foot, you need to get to a doctor or you’ll be in pain and unable to fully use it for the rest of your life.

Yesterday (and all week) she was hopping on her right foot implying the left was the one injured. Today she’s hopping on her left foot.
