I received a new e-mail from Queen of America Friday evening, along with some commentary:
“MOOSE
Brad left for the rodeo at 5. I let Moose into the baby room then. At 7:50, I went in because I was sewing and never heard him cry to come out. This is what I saw:

After I cleaned and refilled the dishes, she got out to eat and the orange one got in. This is the girl, not the Chesney one:

The black one is just cute:

After about another 10 minutes, Moose was ready to come out."
NATIONAL SAFE DAY. June 4th and National SAFE Day holds the power to prevent tragedy from repeating itself. One in every three households in the United States has a gun stored somewhere inside. The Brooklynn Mae Mohler Foundation is committed to ending senseless child deaths through education of responsible gun ownership and empowering parents to ask about guns where their children visit.
NATIONAL CHEESE DAY
NATIONAL PINEAPPLE DAY
NATIONAL BUBBLY DAY
NATIONAL BLACK BEAR DAY
NATIONAL PRAIRIE DAY
NATIONAL TRAILS DAY
NATIONAL HUG YOUR CAT DAY. I’ll hug that ones who let me, but I know that April won’t want to be hugged. She doesn’t like to be touched.
NATIONAL CLEAN BEAUTY DAY. This observation encourages brands to develop clean and sustainable beauty products from the beginning of their life cycle to the end. At the same time, the celebration educates consumers about seeking better product choices. The movement demands change in our clean beauty practices for a more sustainable world
NATIONAL OLD MAIDS DAY. National Old Maid’s Day recognizes the women who never marry and remain childless. While the term may not seem to be flattering, less complimentary terms such as spinster, have been used to describe single, childless women for centuries.
I have two guns, have had them since I was ten. Have murdered any number of squirrels, rabbits, possums and raccoons. The last two were in my hen house. The first two were for dinner, though I have eaten raccoons in dinners at the VFW, barbecue. Never ever had an urge to harm any person. Was always taught, you shoot it, you eat it. Can’t understand the world today.
On the nature walk theme, I have a huge stand of poppies at my backdoor, and their seed pods are ripe. I spotted over a dozen yellow finches on them, yesterday, at one time. Very beautiful. A pity there was no way to take a picture. The mulberry in my backyard is really producing fruit, and I have a young buck who must have a sweet tooth. He spends hours below the tree eating the fallen mulberries. Every year, I see every type of wild animal I have in or under that tree. I even see predator and prey animals together. Apparently, berries are a neutral zone for them.
Today a fledgling Blue Jay tried to land on my hat. Is a bird on hat worth two in the bush? We escorted the little one back onto the sidewalk from the middle of the street. The parental Blue Jay screamed at us the entire time.
Chesney obviously considers the glass to be half empty. What a sourpuss! On another note, saw eleven robins, four rabbits, two spotted towhees, and a chipmunk while out walking today.

Snootfull – is there any other time the term ‘snoot’ is used?
I have to look at the ground when I walk or I’ll trip over something. Doesn’t matter if it’s a giant tree limb or a leaf.

Today is Katie’s second anniversary of being adopted from the shelter. She has trained hubby and me to her way of thinking.
