102 is nothing! On a hot day, the inside of a car can get over 140 degrees, not to mention that sidewalks and asphalt can burn their paw pads. It’s no fun but leave the pups at home.
I call ahead when I go someplace new. If I can’t take my therapy dog inside, she stays home. I cannot guarantee I won’t get injured inside or something else that would keep me from getting to my dog. Imagine passing out in a store and they immediately send you to the ER and it takes them hours to send you home, and you have to wait for someone to come get you and arrange to get to your dog. Or someone steals your dog. Not taking risks with my dog.
Never leave your pet in a car, or you may experience the phenomena of spontaneous window explosions. I’ve seen it happen. I’m walking along minding my own business, see a dog in a hot car, and “Boom!” Glass all over the parking lot. Sometimes two or three windows at once, and maybe a mirror and headlight or two. It was all I could do to grab the dog and run for safety.

Just my opinion, but unless someone is in the car with them, pets should be left at home and not in a car.
