And don’t forget to bring the cards. Then you can play bridge on the bridge. And if you fall down and knock out some teeth, you can get a bridge for that, too. And don’t forget to bring along the bridge in case someone decides to play billiards.
Reminds me of one episode of Night Court, in which an elderly woman had some valuable stock shares that her bridge club contributed. When Dan asked how the bridge club had all that stock, she replied “We don’t play bridge, we build them!”
My wife walked across the Golden Gate Bridge with the celebration to commemorate its 50th anniversary. She was in pretty good shape, considering she had walked across it as part of the original Grand Opening celebration. :)
I was born in 1961. My mother was part of a bridge club. She was playing bridge with some friends, one who was a doctor. He told my mom he thought that she was pregnant. Mind you, my mom was 35 and had been married to my dad since she was 16 and he was 17 (1942). They had been told that they couldn’t have kids so they adopted both of my older brothers. The doctor friend told my mom that “Pregnant women have a ‘look’ about them and she had this look.” He kept on until she went to an OB/GYN and took a test. Several days later, they told her, “Madge, you’re as pregnant as hell.” Every time I read or hear about the card game Bridge, it brings a smile to my face. I lost my mom to cancer in 1994 when she was 68.
Um, Horace, if you’re feeling sad or depressed, walk safely off the bridge NOW! Hopefully in this universe they have already installed the safety nets.

On the upside…you get to see a lot of historic bridges.

at least he’s just walking it (I think) and not having to paint it (over and over and over again)

Do we have space here for a golf club? Just a sand wedge.

Did he really join a club, or did someone just sell him a bridge?

Why would Horace (or anyone) want to club a bridge? What has it done to him?
