Arnold Palmer’s tremendous popularity among golfers and non-golfers alike played a major role in popularizing professional golf and, in particular, televising it. As a kid, I can recall my dad, who had never picked up a golf club in his life, being glued to our old black & white TV set strictly because Arnie was playing. He was not only one of the best to ever play the game but he also maintained that same high standard of conduct in his private life. As if all that wasn’t enough, he got around in his own jet which he piloted himself. All things considered, he was the gold standard and sadly missed by most everyone who knew him or knew of him.

Ah, took me awhile. For you Millennials (and Gen’Zers), she’s referring to Arnold Palmer, the great golfer. Hazards; traps; get it?

and some fast food chains are selling a version of Arnie’s sun tea. Really good in summer heat.
