Sounds like the most lasting effect of most political speeches, especially any comments from Buttercup. Most people would rather watch reruns of old daytime soaps.

Back in the 70s when all we had was a single TV channel run by the government, live sports was always interrupted by national news.

Priorities…….

Bread and circuses, fink. Bread and circuses.

That about describes today! Sports take over almost all the channels, even though there are sports channels for sporting events.

Did it EVER occur to the greedy TV moguls, that not everyone is into marathon sports? Well, did it?

Even before the widdle fink speaks, they’re up in arms….

We interrupt this important ballgame with…dreck?

One night in October of 2007 I was at a performance of the Capitol Steps while the Red Sox were playing the 3rd game of the World Series. At the end of the show, one of the performers asked if we would like to know the score of the game. When we all shouted “Yes!”, he responded “So would I!” Then he left the stage.

Baseball rules. Wonder if they played in armored suits back then.

They must be bettors checking for point shavings.

I found out I still had two recordings left of “Perfect Harmony”. The concert was going to be during a UK game. The choir went to the cable company and cut a wire.

So the game wasn’t on broadcast TV?

The concert was well attended.

It’s upsetting when the game goes over time and I discover that the show I had recorded didn’t get recorded!
