hang in there, Michael, when meeting the parents

Mike actually has a lot of experience for a kid his age. He dated Martha for 4 years and met her parents. There were no guys I knew in high school who could make the same claim. If Mike comes off as an idiot on this date, it is not going to be for lack of experience.

Looks like Michael inherited his father’s teeth (cf. last Sunday’s strip).

Little experience? I would rather say no experience!

One way to impress her is show her you are now driving the family wagon (from the back it could look like a pick-up truck) instead of dad’s hot sports car. Surely you must know how to roll up the windows in the sedan. Show her your rolling up the windows and she’ll smile.

Thank goodness I never wasted my time on dates.

I still remember the first time i went to pick up a girl, for our first, and last date, and meeting her parents. Her mother was friendly enough, except for waving around her meat cleaver. She was in the process of chopping something up to be cooked, but her father totally unnerved me. I think it was the expression on his face while he was cleaning his shotgun at the table. He swore that he wasn’t trying to point it at me, while he was working on it, but i’ve always had my doubts.

Well, at least he is honest with himself :D

If a kiss happens, don’t drool.

Never had to do that, didn´t start dating until I left the Army and all the girls I met had left home.

Michael, the thing about being a man of little experience is that it makes gaining experience a whole lot more fun.

He is captivated by her beauty. Been there, done it.

Lynn must really hate her son. Not that it wouldn’t be understandable if in real life he were actually like the comic strip character.

I never had an issue when I met my dates parents. Never had either parent try to intimidate me. I drove a 74 Mercury Comet that didn’t look dangerous although it has the 302 V8 and a bench seat…

After the car wash drenching, I am surprised she agreed to ride in car again with him… LOL

Well you went up to the door and rang the bell rather then sitting in the car honking the horn. So far, so good. Be polite to the parent(s) and you will be well ahead of the game.
