I regularly walk to the half-dozen businesses I patronize that are within a half mile from my house. One of my routes takes me past a fitness center where I can see its patrons sweating away on their treadmills. I walk for free and get to enjoy the scenery, visit with other passers-by, and greet the occasion dog out walking their human. They have to drive to and from the center and pay to walk. And while they do have air-conditioning, I have ice cream!
