People who want to climb Everest are… whacko… though in a mostly acceptable way… except for the pollution (including the bodies) they leave behind.

Rather see comments from Mrs. Olsen. She’s the one working outside her comfort zone. Caulfield is just building his brag for when school is in.

That textbook from my Foundations of Education class was like that, no matter what chapter was covered!

My idea of a difficult read is a boring one.

To paraphrase Yogi Berra about Mt Everest: Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

My favorite (and most arduous) climb is into bed every night.

An excellent read is The Last Season, the true story of a ranger raised in Yosemite Valley – his dad was an accountant and they were friends with Ansel Adams – who went on to become a seasonal high Sierra ranger, until one day he went missing. The first time I read I literally could not put it down until I finished it that evening.
