Again with the assumptions. You’d think that their curiosity would lead them to some information sources once in a while. Making things up is easier.

School is, very much alas, not doing a good job of training brains. In fact, when feeling pessimistic, I sometimes think that their job is to assure that kids will grow up interchangeable for the bosses’ convenience.

All of the football coaches reading this strip are baffled at Caulfield’s last remark.

Lemme mention that the New Orleans Saints held joint practices with the Green Bay Packers last week, and they didn’t do it in New Orleans.

Caulfield is working on his ‘sneak play’ for Mrs Olsen’s class. Remember when she asks Any questions, that usually cues Caulfield to throw one from left field.

NFL rookies report to training camp on July 18. July high temps in Whitehorse, Yukon, range from about 60 to 80 F.

It’s winter in the Southern Hemisphere. Better to hold camp in Tiera Del Fuego.

Al Spalding – the Sporting Goods magnate who was also a pitcher and baseball executive – is the one who started taking the players to warmer weather to train in the spring. But it was Arkansas, not Florida.

Third grade must have been a very good year, because I don’t seem to remember it at all.

Football begins in the heat of late summer and transitions to fall then winter. The players have time to acclimate.

“Thinking like a football coach” is an oxymoron, Caulfield.

What does it take to be a successful football coach? You have be smart enough to understand the game (a low bar) and stupid enough to think it matters.

I saw a really depressing graphic; a map showing what all 50 highest-paid state employees do. Props to MA; theirs is the head of the state university medical school program. MN was a hockey coach, and every other state’s highest paid employee was either a football or basketball coach. That is just obscene. Add in all the money wasted on all their colleagues and think how many worthwhile jobs could be funded!!!

As smart as Caulfield is, he’s been repeating Mrs. Olsens third grade class for 20 years?

I believe that in the professional ranks, more baseball and American football teams are playing at covered arenas.

I love how this strip can pontificate freely. Despite what some others say in their own pontifications also free to do and get criticized also.
