Well we’ll just have an indoor picnic and a certain orange menace is not invited!

We had 3 minutes of muggy rain yesterday. Leaving soon for an overnight up on the Carson Pass where there should be many wildflowers still in bloom, especially in a few wetter meadows. Not crazy about public campgrounds but this one is small with lots of trees and Craig and I enjoyed a few stays there. And $30 as appossed to $180 for a room down the road.

He could have handled that differently ~ but that wouldn’t have been fun for him.

Poor girls. Now to come up with a back-up plan—a little late…but better late than never!

I’m not sure what to do about these kittens. One is sort of coming around but the other one isn’t. I have never sent any fosters back to the shelter but I’m going to talk to Robyn today. Maybe she and Susan can come up with a suggestion. If they’re not tamed by the time they get neutered on the 27th, I’m not sure they’ll be adoptable.

Cats will tell the truth if it’s in their interest.

I talked to Robyn this morning. She suggested I take them to the shelter for several reasons:1. she now has a full time helper who plays with and socializes kittens. YAY!2. They’re getting neutered on Monday anyway3. She’s going to call the lady who wanted to take all three from that litter and have her go in to assess them.I told her I felt bad, that I have never ever taken any back once I get them. She assured me it was all good.I took Hearbeat Kitty to put with them and will get it back later. Or, since I just ordered a heartbeat bear, I might leave it there. The cats are not available anywhere. Puppies, bears, lambs, unicorns – yes. Cats, no.

Nobody likes a know it all, Chesney. Or someone who says “I told you so” either, for that matter. I find Summer rainy days to be quite pleasant, though they are best enjoyed indoors. On another note, saw a butterfly, three robins, a junco, two damselflies, and a Wilson’s warbler while out walking today.
