My local supermarket chain has already been advertising pumpkin muffins, pumpkin rolls, pumpkin spice donuts, and even pumpkin Cheerios – and yes, Halloween candy is on sale
I thought she got all of her paper after Christmas.I read an article a couple of years ago about when ‘The Bulk Club’ puts out which seasonal things.Up until this year, I went in Oct to get my wired ribbon because it gets sold out fast. I’m all stocked up so don’t need any this year. But, I WILL got get my red boxes of European cookies that I give out. I take them to places around town thatwe do business with – like our pharmacy, bank, the barber, etc. That’s what I used the wired ribbon for.
Based on what I have seen, if you see any “good” candy at the price listed on the sign. Buy it. Candy prices, like everything else is very high right now.
They know what they’re doing. The vast majority of people who buy Halloween candy in August are most likely never going to just let it sit around the house until October 31. They won’t resist the temptation to start eating it…thus having to buy MORE candy as Halloween approaches.
Seriously, I was in Costco on Wednesday, August 25th and there were 2 full rows of Christmas stuff, including all of the trees set up and lit. IT’S 4 MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!!!
Granted we have not been going to stores unless there is a need for something as Covid is still active here, but have not noticed any Halloween or Christmas in stores we have been in – mostly assorted Walmarts/Neighborhood Market, but also at least one trip to Costco and one each to Lowes and Home Depot.
We have enough Christmas decorations (many handmade by one or the other of us) to decorate at least 2 houses and we fit them all in the house – 4 trees plus one beaded tree – and one of the trees is in our “Teddy Bear Village” with small bears – toys, figurines, and such – which gets redecorated by month (though January is split in half between Christmas staying and Valentine’s Day coming). This year will be different for Christmas as husband decided to buy a small, big TV and the setup for Christmas will be different in the living room (and also in dining room as some items have to be moved to there to fit decorations in living room) Hopefully the big tree in the living room where we plan to put it. Even our main studio gets a tree with all decorations made by us.

That reminds me: I still haven’t done my Labor Day shopping yet! I better pick out a Labor Day tree this afternoon before they’re all gone.
Sitting around the Labor Day tree and singing Labor Day songs with the kids is always one of the highlights of the year.

I always waited until the week of Halloween to buy my giveaway goodies. I knew if I bought them sooner, I would have to buy them again.
