Cats are predators. It’s how they are wired, and it won’t change. They even have a slight chattering sound to call other cats when birds are around. Even house cats do this. At least I assume it’s to call the other cats. I used to have 3 and if one chattered, the others showed up.
Years ago in Punch there was a cartoon of a Brit hurrying through the living room with an avid expression on his face and carrying a long gun, and saying, “There’s a most unusual bird in the front garden!”
