IT’s nice to have a new arc after a few weeks of reprints (Not that I MINDED those as it was to get new readers up to speed, it’s just nice after catching up on the strip shortly before it returned in reprints to finally get fresh mateiral)Also Donna be nice.. and realistic. Among her four kids only half of them likely shower or bathe reguarly and we know from a previous arc where Kyle (Kevin’s older bro who i’m not sure has showed up in the reprints), was so rank his smell literally knocked out the entire family sans Kevin. Even if Donna didn’t know about that incident, there’s still the simple fact she knows Kevin and has likely seen Kyle. She can put two and two together that neither of those boys bathe unless forced to. She can’t be that suprised they have lice. I don’t blame Donna for not WANTING to get it, but she could be a bit more senstive about it to her friend, a single mom trying to juggle four kids who now all have lice and again, one of whom can knock out an entire room with his funk.
When I worked at a well-known retail store I stocked shelves in the OTC department. right after school started people were coming in buying lice kits. (Getting RID of them, that is.)
Sometimes families are not conscientious about following all of the instructions to get rid of lice (which are a sometimes a pain) and they don’t get rid of all the eggs or do it halfway and develop a strain of lice that are resistant to the more common delousing strategies. It is essential to treat all of the kids in the family and all of the clothes and other cleaning that needs to be done otherwise you do not get rid of the infestation; it just moves from one host to another.

If it isn’t your first rodeo you should expect the step backwards… She’s a real friend if it was only one. I’d back up three.
