Annie was spayed and is recovering now. A very unhappy girl with the cone on her head. I have to keep her a while longer as she recovers.
A thought occurred to me as I was driving Annie in to the vet yesterday morning. I remembered that sometime last year, I saw a very skinny gray kitten (or possibly a very young adult cat) hanging out near my place. I wonder now if that was Annie. I posted about it in our local hometown Facebook page, asking if anyone was missing this cat. I never got a picture of the cat (or kitten) because I wasn’t able to get close. I think I saw it a couple times. At least one of those times, it was too dark to get a good look. I just looked up my FB post. It was September last year. I strongly suspect that kitty and Annie are one and the same. She very well might have given birth in my garage.
I have an unattached garage. It looks more like a barn than a garage. It’s too far from the street to use it for my car (way too much to shovel snow in the winter) so my car lives outside, not in the garage. My garage has often been a haven for stray cats or even for neighbor cats to visit to get out of the rain or whatever. The garage door is off the hinges (it slides shut like a barn door rather than going up and down like a garage door). I haven’t had the garage door fixed yet because I have higher priorities for my money. So the door is always open for cats to get in and out. The garage is a 2-story building with a south facing window upstairs, which makes it more bearable for cats in the winter. I hope if I am forced to release Annie (which is likely), she will stay in the garage where I can feed her.
Chesney ~ uncovering the town’s deep, dark secrets. I’m glad the police were understanding, but what about the mayor?? You better stay out of sight for awhile, Chesney.
Hoo boy, sounds like Chesney pulled a real doozy. Wonder how long he’ll be on the loading dock. On another note, saw a wren, a chickadee, a spotted towhee and a robin while out walking today.
At 4:30 this early morning, my petite grey tiger kitty departed for the Rainbow Bridge. I adopted her in 2014 from the horse rescue that I support. My daughter and I took her to the vet 2 weeks ago as she was not eating, losing weight and sleeping all the time. She was down from 12 lbs to 7 lbs. A blood panel was run, but it only showed slight anemia. Dr Lisa suggested several things to perk up her appetite. Nothing worked. Last week Dr Lisa put her on prednisone, to get her eating and to shrink the suspected tumor. Sarah took over her care, hand feeding and syringe feeding. Gracie slept with her the last week (all dogs banished from the bedroom). Sarah said she crawled up to her neck, moaned and exhaled loudly and peed and was gone. Sarah wrapped her in a blanket and rocked her until she was sure Gracie was passed. She waited til 6 to message me, I was awake but knew immediately when my phone dinged so early that it was Gracie. We had no idea how old she was. But she is at peace and knew she was loved.

Today is:
NATIONAL COLORING BOOK DAY I like coloring.
NATIONAL ICE CREAM SANDWICH DAY. I’ll pick up those Klondike bars that I accidentally left behind at Walmart on Sunday and I can have one of those!

I would love to see what actually happened but Graham may not have a month free to illustrate Chesney’s capers.

@Eldo OK…I found the picture of Tyler with the soft cone. Give me a day to decide if I’ll make it my avatar. I love the current one so much.
