    My personal dealings with the IRS have been rather benign.

    However, my business dealings were … as our lawyer put it. “You can take it to court and you will win, but they will send battalion after battalion of lawyers after you at taxpayer expense and it will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars and years of litigation.”

    We declared bankruptcy so instead of getting about $50,000 that we were paying off on a pre-agreed plan ahead of schedule, they got about $500 worth of used furniture. Also we laid off our 70 employees.
