Recognizing that it’s each person’s business what they wear, and just speaking for myself, I do not think high heels add one bit to attractiveness. Admittedly, I also think makeup generally detracts from a person’s appearance, too, and wonder if the entire makeup industry is a huge con. Again, wear what you want — just my taste. Fortunately, my wife dislikes heels and makeup as much as I do.
Someone asked a couple of beachgoer girls why their bathing suits were cut so high up the sides. They said it was to make their legs look longer. Wrong. It’s to make the men look longer.
In principle, I agree with Cynthia. On the other hand:
’Dr Gad Saad is associate professor of marketing at Concordia University, Canada, and author of The Evolutionary Bases of Consumption. “High heels may well be the most potent aphrodisiac ever concocted,” he says. "The height sensuously alters the whole anatomy – foot, leg, thigh, hips, pelvis, buttocks, breasts. Men are perfectly frank in admitting that high heels stimulate their sexual appetite, and women, consequently, assign to stilted shoes all the magic of a love potion.
Never wore high heels as a youngster, because I wanted to be able to walk without mechanical assistance when I was old. I’m walking normally at about the same speed as always, thanks. Never bought into the cosmetics industry’s brainwashing, so makeup was never in my kit bag. Clean, tone, moisturize, sun screen and a wide-brim hat means I look just fine.
The theory is that high heels were designed to do the same thing that rings compressing feet into smaller sizes in Asian countries did — it makes it harder for women to run away from their husbands.

Is it true that the height of the heels are inversely proportional to the wearer’s intelligence?

High heels are just a fashion trend like feet binding was. If it’s painful it must make you gorgeous. Bully-poops and mule-muffins.

Meanwhile, I question Cynthia’s fashion sense. White on white? Is she trying to look like a dystopian experiment subject?
