I agree. It’s a great start. I just wished I could sleep more than 4 hours at a stretch. Eight hours is just wishful thinking. I always thought farmers got up early to do chores. No I think they get up because they woke up in the early hours and there was no TV, Internet or anything to occupy the time till daylight.
Okay, I’m just going to blurt it out. Folks who can climb into bed and simply drop off to sleep are annoying to those of us who stare at the ceiling for hours and hope to get maybe four hours if we’re lucky. Lifelong insomniac, finally making progress breaking the Ambien habit but at a cost.
Especially these last few days it’s been wonderful the climb into bed at night. For the last month or so I’ve been preparing for a move to another apartment in my complex. The move is now over and I can finally relax (at night anyway).
In earlier times, sleep was broken into multiple periods. In the days of the American Revolution these were called the First and Second sleep. John Adams is famous for the multitudes of letters that he wrote. Most of these occurred in the interval between the First and Second sleep.

Every day I do two things I hate: I get up in the morning and I go to bed at night.
