’twas probably a piece not ultra important

If the car still runs, steers and stops. Then forget about it.

Too many useless and costly gadgets on cars.

I stop for people on the freeway. One time I had a woman whose muffler picked up a long piece of scaffolding that had fallen off of a truck. Pulled it out and sent her on her way (a little noisier with the hole in it, but running fine). Time for a new muffler.

“Plymouth, Heal Thyself.”

We try to avoid that !

Steering wheel: who needs one?

Plugger excitement is a brake line blowing while driving in heavy traffic.

When a VW CV joint goes, you will see a shower of nuts, bolts & miscellany bouncing down the road behind you.

I get concerned about the left over parts when I work on something and put it back together.

Had a clutch cable snap while commuting … in Socal.

Real pluggers drive heaps.

Just turn the radio up.

I remember when something fell off one of my cars back in the 70s. It turned out to have been the heat shield. The car never missed it. It was traded in and we got a good amount towards a new vehicle.

It’s just extra weight. Detroit puts it on to keep you from going too fast.

Back in the day, we all had metal coffee cans with ‘extra’ parts from doing our own fixes.

Uhh.. that must have come off the car in front of me…. yeah, that’s it.

Many years ago one of the print shops I worked at had a small press that we’d only run once a month or so. Seems like every time we had to run it, something broke or fell off… and it still worked fine…

It’s only needed once you find it missing.

I believe it was Henry Ford, who, when asked how he was going to improve on the Model-T said he was going to put a net under it – to catch the pieces that fell off.

Whew. No idiot lights we’re good.

As long as it still runs…not worth taking it to the dealer and giving them the chance to break and charge you for ten other things.
