Ernesto looks like Pierre in War and Peace.

I forgot how fun the saga of Ernetso’s rapidly declining authority was. Spoilers, he only has further to fall and mostly because he’s well… Ernesto.

A disturbance in the force! Finally, Ernesto is deflated and exposed as abusive. Ernesto and donuts are both full of holes.

That’s a rather mighty shove from someone who’s only imaginary.

I was never all that keen on Petey but now that he said he doesn’t even like donuts – well, that tears it for me!

Hmm. First GoComics runs the 2012 final strip a week early yesterday in this rerun, and now it follows that with the start of the week of daily strips that preceded the final in 2012. It ran other repeated in 2012 strips in the wrong order in this month of the rerun. Makes me wonder if in his final days, Richard actually requested GoComics do that (not make every rerun the same). The dailies are all 2008 repeats with the final strip being a 2007 repeat; I suppose the order isn’t the most important thing. Guess I’ll never know.

After all, if it gets enough holes, it will eventually cease to exist entirely.

Well then eat the donut holes too! My mom used to make them long before Dunkin came along with Munchkins. We shoulda gone into the business.

For some reason, Ernesto reminds me of Kenneth Widmerpool in Anthony Powell’s novel sequence A Dance to the Music of Time.
