    Yeah, it will be finished…in awhile.

    But I understand contractors. They have to take the jobs when they’re available and shoehorn them into the days available, with time out for materials or people that just darned well don’t show up.

    Yep. Sounds about right. After a couple of years of watching the various remodeling shows on HGTV, with families having a renovation budget of $50k and getting a complete home makeover in return, my wife broke down and announced it was time to redo our kitchen. “Since they’re all getting home house remodels for that, we should be able to do it for $20k!” I just shook my head and let her get on with it. Five bids later, the lowest one we got was for $45,000 and so our kitchen went untouched…

    Corners are cut on those fake reality tv shows. Things start breaking down as soon as the “remodelers” and camera crews are gone.
