Here in Tampa senior citizens are covered in ink. Makes the younger generations re-think the ink as it’s no longer their thing to shock the elders with.
I am really ignorant here, but getting tattoos use to REALLY hurt. What’s changed? I can’t imagine so many people, particularly women, getting so many tattoos, and enduring all that pain. I saw an otherwise very pretty young woman working as a drive-up grocery collector (dunno the right term) in a large grocery store who had a large bird tattooed on each cheek & jaw. The images were larger than the actual birds. I wanted to ask if those tats hurt and what she expected them to look like 20 years from now. Instead, I just asked where the Swiss Miss was stocked now. Her reply wasn’t in any helpful or pleasant tone, so I just went on my way.
FINALLY!!!! A bell ringer. Why must women these days despoil their bodies with horrible ink doodles. If it must be done, it would be. nice if is done on body parts not always visible to the public.
" We came to town to see / the ole tattooed lady. / She was a sight to see / Tattooed from head to knee. / Me uncle Ned was there / He’d come to gape an’ stare / ’I’ve never,’ he’d declare, / ‘seen such a freak so fair!’ // On her jaw was the Royal Flying Corps / And on her back was the Union Jack / How could you ask for more? / While up and down her spine/ the Queens Own Guards in line / Then all around her hips / Sailed a fleet of battleships / And over her left kidney / was a birdseye view of Sidney / But what I liked best / was upon her breast / … My little home in Waikiki ! "
Many people want to commemorate a life event with a tat. There is also a certain amount of addiction to the pain involved with getting a tattoo. And with reports being published about the cancer causing effects of tattoo ink, natural selection may have just stepped up its game.
I am always reminded of the old Bob Newhart show where he played the psychologist with a receptionist named Carol. She was telling him she got a tattoo on her butt cheek of a butterfly when she was younger, but it no longer looked like a butterfly but instead looked like a prune. Aging is not kind to tattoos!
Lydia, oh Lydia, say have you met Lydia, Lydia the tattooed lady. She has eyes that me adore so, and a torso even moreso….. And on a clear day you can see Alcatraz, you can learn a lot from Lydia…..

A tattooed lady never was a freak. Just gaudy.

I never understood the desire of some people to inject toxic ink into their skin…it just looks gross, and is in NO WAY sexy or appealing.

Tattoos and aging skin do not have a pretty outcome, guys or gals.
