Personally, I would add subtitles to sequels instead of numbers. It really shows the viewers what they’re getting into. For example: “Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa” and “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted.” Simply adding numbers to the titles seems kinda lazy and not ambitious.
If it wasn’t for remakes and sequels (and sequels of remakes, and remakes of sequels…) 90% of Hollywood would be our of work. Which might be a good thing.
