I worked in several offices from 2004 to 2020, mostly financial companies and advertising agencies. Just about all of them had single-cup coffee makers that used k-cups or something similar. The coffee was a distinct improvement from the someone-has-to-brew-the-next-pot system of last century, though I shudder to consider the environmental impact.
Speaking of bars….My buddy likes working from home because now he isn’t tempted to stop at the tavern on his way home. He was amazed at how much money he spent there.

At the office you don’t get enough coffee to get any work done.

The coffee at the office was always better than at home. We just drink instant now.

The office beer is always flat. Bad enough the pickled egg jar is always empty.
