sounds like seeing too much smoke on the food to me. our you cooking with the fire department this year for labor day or just enjoying some sea food smoke? :D
If it all tends to end up as Cowboy Stew, it’s grub. But that’s good too. Eating from tin plates while seated on logs around a blazing fire for a little mood. (Yes, Blazing Saddles)
Sounds delicious. Definitely not grub and he probably needed to get a loan to finance this meal. Even Madame Gargoyle would find it difficult to complain about, unless he overcooks it. Enjoy the day my friend….
Cant’ speak for Wilberforce, but most kids his age would rather have a hot dog or a burger than steak, shrimp and salmon. My parents thought I was nuts… well, ok, I am, but I still asked for a hot dog when they had steaks. I have since outgrown that stage of my life… the hot dogs, not the “nuts”. : )
We call it chow in the Marines. Doesn’t matter if it is the chow hall, in the field with a delivered hot mean, or if you’re ripping open MREs. It’s chow.

Brutus, this would be a good time to teach Wilberforce smoke signals.

Only Brutus Thonrapple would grill enough Shrimp, Steak and Salmon for crowd, when they are a crowd of three.
Me, I’m not getting that fancy, the St. Louis style ribs go on the smoker in 90 minutes.

Wow what a feast. Eat hearty Thornapples. And I hope that She Who Must Not Be Named doesn’t make an appearance.

Other than the menu, the conversation does give a feeling of hand and chuckwagon master.
