Another disaster with paper thanks to loose papers and Elizabeth’s unexpected flatulence “WHOOOOSH” That was a good one.

Because when it comes time to turn in homework, too many kids LEAVE theirs at home “by accident”.

Scientific experiment complete with outside variables

Because the original pages that people wrote on were Papyrus leaves.

Could be because they tend to leave you (as seen here), and it could be because they fly like leaves.

Hoo boy!! It’ll be tough catching them all!!

Looks like Brian Enjo is waiting for the bus with Elizabeth. Did he do so horribly in school they sent him back to the grade that Elizabeth is in now?

Note to self: “Never give your notes to someone else when you are out in the wind.”

Duh….in the middle of an Autumn windstorm. LOL…

Girls are not as bright… boys will get the answers 15 minutes before class.

Today’s moral lesson, don’t store your science paper work in a loose-leaf binder!

And a bonfire of those “leaves” would be highly satisfying although they’re not as aromatic as tree leaves.

It reminds me of days of yore when people used to smoke cigarettes while waiting for a bus. When you tried to light a cigarette, then a breeze (that you never get otherwise) came up and blew out whatever your matches would give you. It’s a shame Liz gave away her notes. Maybe she won’t see them again. This kid will learn to make an extra copy of everything she lends in the way of notes.

I never got the hang of writing (or using) notes. Either I learned something that would stick with me or I didn’t. Okay – I forget how to find (or use) the determinant of a matrix, but so far that hasn’t been a problem. If I took notes I doubt I would have them with me, or know where in the stack the one I wanted was.

On a related note, I am helping my grandson study for the GED tests. We have done the practice reading test and are wrestling with the practice writing test. The first challenge was to determine just what the questions were about; in the case of the practice reading test it was not about comprehension but rather about the author’s probable intention at various levels, strategic and tactical… but that is never made clear. Alex picked up on it more quickly, but we are still trying to come to grips with the structure of the writing questions. The best technique so far is to identify the differences in the potential answers, and then decide which is more in line with the tenor of the question. They are a lot tougher than the tests in high school.

Well, now is a fine opportunity for the dog to eat your homework.

It is quite a famous picture of wind.

Later an artist by the name of Jeff Wall constructed a photographic art picture on this piece of art called “A Sudden Gust of Wind (after Hokusai)” …

Reminds me of a scene from the movie “The Paper Chase” and one of the students leans out the window with 1000 pages of class notes and the wind catches them and blows them all over the school campus!

Cash left sitting on car seat. Someone rolls down a window driving down the freeway. Ever see folks search up and down the highway shoulder?

A good thing the wind came up exactly when it did or that question would have been unbelievably out of place.

I remember I had a fellow classmate in university – I think he skipped most of the lectures and borrowed my notes before the exams. And usually got better grades, which is amazing. My penmanship was atrocious and I occasionally flatlined during lectures. Literally. I’d doze and my pen would move left to right in straight line.
