I read The Carpetbaggers in high school, a paperback. I put a blank paper bookcover on it so I wouldn’t be hassled by the school when I would read it in study hall. One of my English teachers had us read Catcher in the Rye on the sly. If the school found out they would have gone ballistic.

Can “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” still be found in school libraries?

I’m guessing the Holy Bible was also banned for its graphic content, and excessive violence, depictions of rape, incest, sodomy . . . need I go on?

Thank you, Jeff, for acknowledging Banned Book Week. Everyone – grab a “naughty” book, and let’s READ!!!
