Only Brutus Thornapple would sit in his car to finish listening to a podcast on his phone instead of going into the house to finish listening to the podcast on his phone.
I’ve listened to a show on XM radio in the car and when I got home, turned on the app on my phone to finish listening in the house. Did that yesterday with Mysterious Traveler on Oldtime radio channel.
To change the subject, did anybody else notice how tiny Gladys’s apron is? That’s not going to protect her from anything. I noticed, because I always wear an apron when I’m doing kitchen stuff. Sorry, Chip, but I just had to say something. :-)
I have never stayed in the car to listen to something. I have learned that if I really want to hear a song, I just need to get where I am going and there it is! But I don’t stay to listen to it. I do have a perpetually late friend who has at least once sat in her car to finish listening to a long program of some sort while I sat in the restaurant wondering what her reason this time would be for showing up a half hour late. There are all kinds of excuses and discussions about people who are always late and why. I tend to be a little early, just in case.

When I do that, or, more often to hear the end of a song, Spouse will appear at the front door to ask if anything’s wrong.

Better to hear the end of the podcast than to hear his wife gab and shoot verbal barbs at him.

Never listened to a podcast OR an “influencer”, that must be awful to need that

Maybe Brutus knew what was on the menu and wanted to put off the inevitable as log as possible.

I have done that… Makes perfect sense to me…

An Audible book ending can cause a driveway moment.

I’ve done that on occasion when listening to “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me!”

I stopped to see my girlfriend on the way home.

Sometimes I do exactly that. I stay in the car a finish out the interview on the radio before going inside my house. NPR can really grab my attention.

I’ve done that so many times, the wife doesn’t bother to check on me anymore. Even the dog has stopped barking!

well, now your food is cold. Hope it was worth it, cause now you’ll have to use the nuker cooker to heat up your food.

The question is, Is listening to “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” (17 minutes) worth eating cold supper? The answer, You bet baby.

I’ve tried to listen to audiobooks and the occasional podcast when driving, but I find the droning on irksome.

My wife does that all the time. She’ll be in garage for a half hour or more listening to her podcasts or audio books.

I would have thought Brutus got so involved listening that he missed his turn-off…

Many of the OTR (Old Time Radio) programs are available on archive.org. I sometimes listen when I don’t want to stay in the car to hear the ending.
Buckeye67 about 2 years ago
I hope Brutus turned off the engine when he got home, no podcast is worth the cost of gasoline today.

I have done something like that until a Beatles song ended.

I can see how that could happen. Some of those podcasts are quite entertaining!

Must have been NPR. Some modern cars CAN receive podcasts!
