There is (was?) an EXXON station off I-85 at High Point, NC, that was known for good sushi. Haven’t been near High Point in a while so I don’t know if it is still there. Who knew?
It would be quite a coincidence if they were both talking about the same place. Chief: “Hey!, that’s my new spot too, well how about that? I like to wash mine down with a Monster® energy drink.”
There was a very good sushi place here in town but it went under a few years ago for multiple reasons. I didn’t eat there often, but enjoyed it when I did.
these days, memories of how much i paid for sushi back in tokyo just make me wince in pain. now, we avoid all the snooty attitude and the expense by going to budget conveyor belt sushi places. the fish is just as good as “regular” sushi joints and they also offer cooked items for people like my wife, who doesn’t like most sushi…

Don’t worry Brutus, I’m sure he won’t blab about it to anyone else.

More the jolt from the wasabi sauce. More effective than the convince store’s burnt coffee to wake you into the present.

Only Brutus Thornapple would consider gas station food to be fine dining.

The mechanic makes them when not working on a car?

While I don’t like sushi, I do like watching it being made.

The same place, or the convenience store should now be shut down.

Never eat at a sushi place that’s next to a bait shop.

I didn’t think I’d like Sushi, but I was very, very wrong! Most of it is quite delicious, I just don’t like the ones that are really chewy…

I doubt that would even enter his mind.

Brutus, remarks like that only serve to renew Veeblefester’s already low opinion of you.

Actually, sometimes those gas station places can be pretty good. However, some are just get food and you will get gas…..

The Chief’s answer: “What’s a ‘convenience store’?”

Perfectly on brand. I would expect this from a guy who thinks tv dinners are a special treat!
xaingo about 2 years ago
I bet the convenience store is a step up from the diner he frequents.
