So we break from the people’s problems being solved, to my first fresh arc since catching up, and an idea i’m suprised took this long for Georgia to get to: Puck facing the one leaf he can’t murder. OR think he murdered but his friends just don’t have the heart to tell him.
I use flannel year round. They’re soft, make a nice ‘only’ in the summer, are warm and cozy in the winter and about the most perfect sheets ever! Poor Pucky will figure it out.
Cool fall day, snuggled in the flannel sheets with a cup of tea and a box of donuts. Yes, I’m still on yesterday’s strip, with the cutest lil box of donuts ever. Just realized, donuts ARE cat like in that they shed whatever their toppings are!
Oh, My Cat! We have interdimensional leaves. They must be just out of phase with our reality. Careful Pucky, you don’t want to be sucked down into their alternate reality.
Thank you all for the kind words yesterday. I will keep you informed as we find out more information and/or the cause of Marie’s setback.
We have flannel sheets, but we also have Polarfleece sheets. It’s hard to find them in a split king size, especially with deep pockets (at least 15"). We have a fluffy blanket that is light but warm. The cats love it, kneading it whenever they’re in bed with us. I have a faux mink throw that is light but warm and soft (Dennis Basso does amazing faux fur). The cats love that as well, especially Honor and Monroe – it’s their camo throw since they blend so well with it.
Monroe thinks my oxygen tubing is a great toy. He plays get the snake when it moves during my walks in the house. It’s a 50 ft. tubing setup, so we don’t have to move the concentrator anywhere. (We have portable tanks with their own 8 ft. tubing and a backpack that can hang from my wheelchair. The company that provides all this is pretty incredible.)
I find that flannel sheets and my winter fleece pjs are like Velcro. I can’t move in them, I get stuck! No matter what I do, they wrap around me like a boa constrictor. However, I use my flannel sheet as a light blanket in the summer, over my cotton sheets – it’s perfect for that!
I had bought a Halloween fleece throw. It was orange with black spiders. Jack spent half an hour one day trying to catch the spiders!!! He finally zonked out on the blanket
How can Puck save us from the leaves if the people bring them right in? Hopefully they don’t team up with that awful robosnake that attacked the Man once. Don’t worry, Puck, in a little while everything will be decorated in sky pieces and Las Vegas firs.
I use a flat flannel sheet as a light blanket between the top sheet and quilt on my bed. Mostly in the fall and winter. When winter comes along, I add a wool blanket to the top of the flannel sheet blanket and add the quilt on top. So, that is four top layers in winter and it is cozy and warm.
I learned to love flannel sheets — in Houston, 1989 — the year I lived in a charming little vintage bungalow in a historic district offering all delightfully renovated mod cons but central heat/AC. The two window units were just swell, but the two gas space heaters were overwhelmed. By my second month there, I’d dubbed the main one “The Miracle of Physics” ’cuz it sucked down gas like cheap likker but remained cool-to-the-touch during the coldest deep-freezing December/January winter in Houston in decades. Those sheets, a Goodwill electric blanket, and my sweet Moon Kitty floof saved my life, my fingers and my toes that Christmas.
I can’t have nice sheets. Giant dog with long nails and another giant dog that digs. I buy the $30 king sheets from Amazon and the dogs end up putting a hole or two in them. Toss after a few uses and repeat. The long nail boy is because he has to be put completely under sedation to cut his nails so it only happens once a year. He is getting old for a Dane.

With coziness? Yes, definitely with coziness….that’s the secret of new flannel sheets. Sorry, Pucky….

What an incredibly cunning plan! The leaves have thwarted Puck by integrating themselves into cosy, warm, flannel. Doom is now inescapable.

People! What have you done? How could you do this to brave Pucky!? This is treachery! This is providing aid and coziness to the enemy!

I don’t like flannel sheets. They make me too warm. But I do like that design. I’d like to see it on a fuzzy lap blanket.

Earth, Wind, and Fire: September
Do you remember the autumn leaves falling in September?
There in the window, as dark as an ember
Puck was chasing the clouds away
…….
What is this madness?
Leaves hiding in sheets causing such stress!
If the sheets become damaged we confess
The People only have themselves to blame!
…….
Hey hey hey
Ba de ya, People, please remember
Ba de ya, leaves fall in September,
Ba de ya, Puck must fight them every day!
…….
Ba duda, ba duda, ba duda,
Puck must do what he must do
Leaves were meant to stay outside!
…….
All paws are on deck
Fighting the leaves all straight from heck!
With Pucky’s labor of love!
And now those pesky leaves are here today!
…….
Hey hey hey
Ba de ya, People, please remember
Ba de ya, leaves fall in September,
Ba de ya, Puck must fight them every day!
…….
Ba de ya, People, please remember
Ba de ya, leaves fall in September!
Ba de ya, golden sun throughout the day!
…….
The leaves are falling
That they’re inside is so appalling!
Do you realize, Puck must fight them every day!
…….
Hey hey hey
Ba de ya, People, please remember
Ba de ya, leaves fall in September,
Ba de ya, Puck must fight them every day!
…….

Puck would hate some of my coffee cups. They were fired with a real leaf on them. The leaf burns off leaving a lovely leaf pattern on the cup.
