Jack will soon meet Jill and that’s that (No hill involved this time)!

Buckles , posture in the third panel is absolutely " precious " thanks to David for that one : )

It’s a tad too late to encourage your pumpkin friend to escape Buckles. The dirty deed has already been done and his innards are gone.

The pie has already been made with his guts. They aren’t going to use the shell

You don’t make a pie from the guts. You do use the firm outside, but not after it has been sitting outside and rotting for days or weeks. You can separate the pumpkin seeds and bake them for a snack.

Then comes Jill to pick up Jack and take him inside, much to Buckles’ protest.

Buckles does not adore losing friends, or, is he confusing Jack with himself?
